Jessica & Keenan | A Heartfelt Kelowna Elopement
March 12th, 2025 will forever be etched in Jessica and Keenan’s hearts—not only as their dating anniversary, but now also as the day they said “I do.” This beautiful Kelowna elopement was the perfect blend of intimacy, emotion, and West Coast magic.
What began as a love story between an Alberta girl and an Ontario man has blossomed into a life filled with love and new beginnings. And I had the incredible honour of capturing every moment of their elopement in Kelowna.
This wasn’t just another wedding for me—it was deeply personal. I’ve known Jessica and her maid of honour, Kelly, for about 15 years. In fact, it’s because of Jessica that I met my own husband, Shawn. So to fly out and photograph her wedding, that meant the world to me.
Jessica and Keenan planned a small Kelowna elopement surrounded only by their closest people. Jessica’s best friend and Keenan’s best man. It was everything a wedding should be: heartfelt, joyful, and completely centred on what truly matters.
The morning of their elopement began with gentle rain, but as if on cue, the skies cleared just in time for the ceremony. We met at Mill Creek Regional Park, a serene and natural setting framed by towering trees and the sound of rushing water. Jessica, radiant and glowing at 28 weeks pregnant, walked toward her future with a grace and strength that moved everyone present.
Earlier that week, I flew into Kelowna and we filled the days with everything you’d imagine for a friend’s wedding. Manicures, a sleepover the night before, breakfast together, and helping each other get ready. That morning, Kelly surprised Jessica with a stunning bouquet and matching diamond bracelets, a thoughtful gift that brought happy tears and set the tone for a day filled with love.
After a touching ceremony, we captured dreamy portraits near the waterfall before heading to Kalamoir Park on the beach in West Kelowna. There, we popped champagne, lit sparklers at golden hour, and captured Jessica and Keenan’s private vows along the shoreline. The gentle light, the lake breeze, and the intimacy of just the two of them. It was magic only a Kelowna elopement could offer.
We ended the day with dinner at the cozy and elegant Quails’ Gate Winery, where the four of us shared cheese and chocolate fondue, a bottle of local red wine, and so much laughter. It was the perfect ending to a day that felt beautifully relaxed and filled with meaning.
If you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding day filled with love, laughter, and stunning mountain or lake views. A Kelowna elopement might just be the perfect fit for you, too.
